I Tried a $1 vs $100 Golden Hot Dog

Davidsbeenhere

0:00 This is a $1 hot dog.

0:02 This is a $15 hot dog.

0:04 And this is a $100 hot dog.

0:05 We're going to see what makes that $100 so special.

0:08 I'm going to give you my rating at the end.

0:10 Let's go.

0:13 $1 hot dog.

0:14 Where do we find it?

0:15 Well, in the streets of downtown and any city in America,

0:17 you'll find vendors like this selling hot dogs.

0:20 Sometimes they have sandwiches, sometimes burgers.

0:23 This guy has hot dogs.

0:24 It used to be $1.

0:26 Now it's $7.

0:27 American inflation.

0:28 Remember to bring cash.

0:29 If not, you got to pay through zel.

0:33 Italian.

0:33 Italian sausage.

0:35 So, you're going to put some bread.

0:37 So, the bread's ready.

0:39 Next, we got the the hot dog.

0:41 Some onions.

0:42 Some onions.

0:42 Yeah, why not?

0:45 Yeah.

0:45 Relish.

0:46 Relish.

0:48 Some cabbage.

0:49 Some sauerkraut.

0:52 Some ketchup.

0:53 Perfect.

0:54 Mustard.

0:56 Some mayo as well.

0:58 Whoa.

0:58 Yeah, that's Cuban style.

1:00 Some crispy chicken.

1:02 All right, we did it.

1:05 Oh, that's that's definitely more Cuban style.

1:06 And today we're starting with this $1 hot dog.

1:09 Classic.

1:09 Whenever you go to a baseball game, this is what you need to order.

1:12 He made it a little more Cuban for me, adding the chips on top.

1:16 But what do we have?

1:17 It's a hot dog bun.

1:18 Massive hot dog.

1:20 Then he added some relish, some sauerkraut, ketchup,

1:25 mustard, mayonnaise, and then some frittas, the little chips.

1:29 So f $1, guys.

1:31 Let's see how this bite tastes.

1:37 M for seven bucks.

1:39 Can't beat this.

1:40 I mean, it's fast food on the streets here in downtown.

1:43 I never really understood that.

1:44 I guess because everybody in the court system has to get quick lunch,

1:47 so they have these guys.

1:52 So many memories here.

1:53 Nostalgia in a bite.

1:55 You know, I used to go to ball games with my friends.

1:57 This is what we used to have.

2:00 That was way worse.

2:01 This is definitely more upscale in a sense.

2:03 You know, the chips makes it really crunchy.

2:06 Hey, for a buck, inflated buck.

2:09 Pretty good.

2:11 Nice crunch of the chips.

2:12 Nice juicy thick sausage.

2:15 And we have the mix of flavors.

2:17 I personally don't love the mayo.

2:19 Mustard is my thing, but it all goes well together.

2:22 And I'll say like overall affordability, it's a 10.

2:25 Most affordable we're going to have today for sure.

2:27 Tastewise, I mean, it's tasty, but it's not amazing.

2:31 I'd say probably a five.

2:34 One more bite.

2:34 Let's see.

2:39 Not my favorite, but let's see how it stacks up against the others.

2:42 And we're here are betterers making hot dogs since 1959.

2:46 And they got a $15 hot dog.

2:48 Let's go inside.

2:49 So, here at Odd Brothers, they have lots of hot dogs.

2:52 Look at this massive menu.

2:53 But we're going with this, the raw migill.

2:55 It's a foot long.

2:56 Johnny Sins.

2:57 And And it's 8 oz.

2:59 8 oz.

3:00 Yeah.

3:00 Eight.

3:00 It's half a pound.

3:01 It's gigantic.

3:02 Half a pound.

3:03 It's thick.

3:04 We like it thick, right?

3:05 So that's the foot long right there.

3:07 Yeah.

3:07 You got to cut it in the middle.

3:09 Supre all beef.

3:10 Supre all beef.

3:12 This is a all beef foot long.

3:13 So we cut it in half.

3:15 put it on the flat top.

3:16 Then he put presser on top so it gets nice and charred.

3:20 He's going to add some oil.

3:21 Makes it a little more moist.

3:26 This is a jumbo all beef spread grilled.

3:30 This is the uh Mendoza sausage dog.

3:33 This is the sret.

3:35 Uh by the way, you can't get any of these sretzes in South Florida.

3:39 Anywhere in South Florida.

3:40 Anywhere you could cuz these are the you

3:42 could buy some sretz at the grocery store.

3:44 You can't get these anywhere in the south.

3:48 And we throw that up to order.

3:49 This Ron McGill again, a Sabr all beef, 8 O.

3:54 Absolutely insane because normally, look how thick that is.

3:59 Normally a a foot long is tiny.

4:02 It's thin.

4:03 So, this is absolutely incredible.

4:05 I mean, I get little old ladies that come in and eat the whole time.

4:08 Oh, yeah.

4:09 I don't know how.

4:10 Those are our uh onions.

4:12 Freshly grilled onions for the mendoza.

4:14 That's the mendoza.

4:15 Yeah.

4:15 With with a sport peppers, onions, and mustard.

4:19 Is that beautiful?

4:20 First of all, hot dogs were invented in Germany,

4:24 but we really made it an American thing.

4:26 That's why it's, you know, apple pie hot dogs and Chevrolet.

4:30 It's the most American food really there is.

4:32 And we sell people are like, "Oh,

4:34 people don't eat hot dogs as much." There's more hot

4:37 dogs sold now than uh ever ever has been obviously.

4:42 So, our fries are fresh.

4:43 We don't have a heat lamp for our fries.

4:45 Our fries are made fresh and they're unbelievable.

4:49 They're all from Idaho.

4:50 Every single fry we get is on an Idaho potato chili cheese.

4:56 And by the way, our place is one of the cleanest places in Dayton Broward.

5:00 So, right here we have the monster.

5:01 It's the monster.

5:02 You see the chili?

5:03 That's fresh homemade every day.

5:04 My mom's recipe from the 1940s.

5:08 So, we're going to go mustard.

5:09 So, we're starting with some mustard.

5:10 Mustard on the top half.

5:11 Going to go with some chili.

5:15 Chili.

5:14 Good scoop of chili.

5:17 Chili.

5:17 Go with some onion.

5:18 The

5:19 MLC.

5:20 Some onions.

5:20 And then the second half we're going

5:22 to do all around what we call allaround ketchup.

5:24 So, you got mustard.

5:26 So, some mustard.

5:28 Relish.

5:27 Got some relish next.

5:29 Little more relish than that.

5:31 Then we got some more onion.

5:33 More onion.

5:34 So that' be the allaround.

5:35 And then we're going to go ahead and add our famous kraut.

5:38 Sauerkraut.

5:38 And that's an allaround with some sauerkraut.

5:41 There you go.

5:42 A monster dog.

5:42 Here's our Ron Miguel monster dog.

5:44 We love Ron Miguel.

5:45 And it's You're going to love it, man.

5:47 That's the best dog you ever had in your life.

5:49 $15 hot dog.

5:50 It is a foot long.

5:51 It's literally two hot dogs in one.

5:53 So what's the history of hot dogs?

5:54 Well, they date back to like Mesopotamia.

5:57 Back in 3,000 4,000 years ago.

5:59 They were mixing meat and putting it in intestines and making sausages.

6:02 the Greeks, the Romans, they all did it.

6:04 Then eventually in Germany, they revolutionized in the early 1800s in Frankfurt.

6:09 Those German immigrants came to America.

6:11 Obviously, we started consuming hot dogs.

6:13 But one day in New York in one of the games, somebody said, "Hot dog for sale,

6:18 hot dog." And basically, the guy was connecting the hot dog with a dashon,

6:23 which is the German sausage dog.

6:25 Random fact, it's real.

6:27 All right, let's grab this $15 hot dog.

6:30 It's going to be hard.

6:35 Mhm.

6:36 Amazing sauerkraut, the mustard.

6:38 I personally love the beef.

6:41 Sometimes it's half and half.

6:44 You know, it automatically teleports me to like games when I was young.

6:48 I used to go watching my friends at games and then I would eat this.

6:53 But this is huge.

6:56 This is what $15 gets you here at Arters.

6:58 It's so massive.

6:58 I had to cut it in half.

6:59 There's no real way to eat this if we just try to grab the whole thing.

7:03 All right, this one has the chili.

7:05 What else does I have?

7:06 Some onions.

7:13 Oh, it's an amazing hot dog.

7:15 It's crunchy.

7:16 It's juicy.

7:18 I love how everything just like pours out of it.

7:22 Chili on hot dog.

7:24 Smoky, crumbly.

7:30 It's pretty damn good.

7:32 $15.

7:33 I think it's definitely worth it.

7:35 It has many hot dogs.

7:36 You can add so many different toppings and it's like a billion toppings,

7:38 but I think you should go like this.

7:40 More classic.

7:41 That's the real American way.

7:45 Let me enjoy this.

7:50 The relish.

7:55 Mhm.

7:57 Terms of value, a 10 out of 10.

7:59 $15.

8:01 You're getting a massive meal.

8:02 In terms of taste, it is definitely up there in quality.

8:06 I've had some really bad hot dogs in my life.

8:07 I'd say this is an eight in taste.

8:10 And you have two different things.

8:11 So, so if you didn't like this side, you might like this side, right?

8:18 Definitely an eight.

8:19 I like the Polish dog more just in general.

8:22 The Polish dog is

8:24 definitely juicy.

8:25 It's amazing.

8:26 appreciate you.

8:26 Thank you.

8:26 Thank you.

8:27 Bless you.

8:28 Pleasure.

8:29 For sure.

8:29 Thank you for everything you do.

8:31 No, thank you.

8:31 I'll let you know as soon as this comes out.

8:33 Yeah.

8:33 Send send me so I can see it.

8:35 I will send me a link.

8:36 Of course.

8:36 Of course.

8:37 Appreciate you, brother.

8:38 Thank you.

8:38 Great to meet you, too, buddy.

8:40 Thank you guys.

8:41 We appreciate what you do.

8:42 I'm going to dream about that hot dog.

8:44 See, you're in perfect shape.

8:45 Perfect shape.

8:46 Hot dog.

8:47 THAT'S FROM HOT DOGS.

8:47 I eat I eat 10 hot dogs a day.

8:52 See, world's finest cheese house.

8:54 They created a $100 hot dog with caviar and wagu beef.

8:58 We're going to learn about it right now.

8:59 Let's see if the hype holds up.

9:02 So, as soon as you walk in, they have infinite cheeses.

9:05 You got olive oil.

9:06 We got some wines.

9:07 You got some of the best cheesecake in the world here as well.

9:10 But we're here for the $100 hot dog.

9:11 So, Manny, $100 hot dog.

9:13 What makes this hot dog so special?

9:16 This isn't just a hot dog.

9:18 This is a croissant facel bakery bun with a Wagyu hot dog.

9:23 100% beef Wagu.

9:26 On top of it, we have a very special secret sauce that we make for you.

9:30 Then we're going to put caviar on for you.

9:32 A little bit of gold.

9:34 When you eat the hot dog, you just feel amazing.

9:37 You feel like 100 bucks for sure with the marcapony.

9:40 Look at that beautiful cream.

9:42 I' I've never seen this on top of a hot dog.

9:45 She's going to grab some caviar.

9:47 First time seeing caviar on a hot dog.

9:48 It actually looks like more of a dessert.

9:50 A savory dessert.

9:51 No.

9:52 Caviar is done.

9:52 Now we're going to add some chives.

9:55 The golden flakes.

9:56 We add gold to everything.

9:59 All right, guys.

9:59 The $100 hot dog.

10:01 This is the most expensive hot dog I've ever seen.

10:04 This is amazing.

10:05 Look at this.

10:05 So, we have croissant bun, wagu beef hot dog, mascapon sauce,

10:11 have the caviar, golden flakes on top, and some chives.

10:15 Hey.

10:15 Hey, influencers over here.

10:16 What's happening?

10:17 No, that's crazy.

10:29 Mhm.

10:28 You know, right away the bun nice and crunchy, delicate.

10:31 I love how it pairs all together.

10:33 So, the saltiness of the caviar really cuts through

10:36 the cream of the mascar bone like a lightsaber through butter.

10:40 And now another bite.

10:42 Not the McDonald's CEO style.

10:43 I'm going to have a real bite.

10:50 Oh my gosh.

10:52 You know, it's like a light pillow of mascapone,

10:55 but that saltiness of the caviar, the crazy flavors.

10:59 Amazing how there's so many textures in one bite.

11:02 Oh my god.

11:02 I'm finishing this.

11:08 The gold tastes like Miami or a few girls I've dated here.

11:13 Sorry.

11:16 I'm going to say might be the most expensive hot dog I've had.

11:19 It's definitely the most delicious.

11:29 The top, man.

11:30 Even if you take off the caviar, it's the mascapone sauce.

11:34 Wow.

11:35 I dip everything into that.

11:36 All right.

11:37 So, I still have some gold flakes in my lips,

11:39 but I'm going to, you know, rank this, you know, in terms of value, for sure.

11:43 First on the lower end, let's say a 2 out of 10.

11:45 It's expensive hot dog.

11:46 But of course, it is Miami, the most expensive city to dine out in America.

11:50 But in terms of taste, this is a 15 out of 10, guys.

11:52 I mean, the taste can't be beat.

11:55 It is a mix between, I'd say, a little a little sweet, a little savory.

11:58 It's the ultimate hot dog.

12:04 Number one in taste.

12:06 My god.

12:08 Wow.

12:09 That was it.

12:10 We tried three different hot dogs.

12:11 $1, $15, and $100.

12:14 I'll say the $1 one great, but you know what?

12:18 Not great taste.

12:19 Second one are betters.

12:21 Affordable and tasty.

12:23 Chev is $100 hot dog.

12:25 You know what I'll say?

12:26 It's very, very expensive, but the best tasting hot dog of my life.

12:30 All right, guys.

12:31 If you want to see more videos like this, let me know in the comments below.

12:33 And if not, I'll see you next time.
