Trump Ballroom Secret EXPOSED As MAGA CRUMBLES

0:10 A big fat lie, a very expensive lie that you

0:18 The least surprising news of the day,

0:19 Donald Trump has lied about the ballroom again.

0:22 We're now learning that the Republican Party is trying to secretly slip

0:26 in a billion dollars in taxpayer money

0:29 into random bills to pay for the ballroom.

0:33 Now, of course, this comes after all of the Republicans

0:36 have been telling us it's not taxpayer funded,

0:38 it's funded by private donors, it's funded by Donald Trump himself,

0:41 and now they're singing a different tune.

0:44 But to be clear, it was always going to end up like this.

0:47 It was never going to be privately funded,

0:50 funded by Donald Trump, and that's it.

0:52 They were always going to get taxpayer dollars for the ballroom,

0:54 and now they're actually doing it.

0:56 And this report is so bad,

0:58 what Republicans are trying to secretly do without you knowing

1:01 is so bad that even Fox News is covering it.

1:04 Now, that's a different level of bad.

1:06 When even Fox is getting in saying that Republicans are slipping $1

1:10 billion in taxpayer money into an ICE funding bill to pay for it,

1:13 then you know we're in different territory of cover-up,

1:16 of secrecy with this administration.

1:18 And let's be clear, Donald Trump hasn't

1:20 exactly been secretive about his goal here

1:24 to get taxpayers to fund it or to get it built in the first place.

1:28 Just the other day on social media,

1:29 he posted a bunch of different screenshots of politicians,

1:34 MAGA commentators, Republicans just generally coming

1:37 out in favor of the ballroom, even members of his administration.

1:41 And to be clear, all of these were posted

1:44 on the same day within like minutes of each other.

1:47 I'm going to keep scrolling.

1:48 You can see how many tweets Donald Trump uploaded.

1:51 We're already on three, four pages of tweets that Donald Trump put

1:53 on social media to garner up support for the ballroom,

1:56 and he's done this multiple multiple times.

1:59 And these are all MAGA commentators or people within politics.

2:02 That was like 10 different pages of tweets,

2:05 and they're all saying, "You know, we have to build the ballroom.

2:07 We have to get it done." So,

2:08 I feel like we kind of could have predicted that this was

2:11 going to be the play the the the the case, especially with, you know,

2:14 how how Donald Trump immediately was demanding that the ballroom

2:17 be built after the White House Correspondents Dinner shooting.

2:19 But he's not making it unknown.

2:21 He's not really keeping it on the down low that he wants this ballroom built,

2:25 and he wants taxpayers to pay for it.

2:27 Here's a couple of reactions I want to show you before we get into the article.

2:30 This is the Lincoln Project.

2:31 First, it was 200 million, then it was 300 million,

2:34 now it's 400 million, and completely covered by donations,

2:38 but now in this present time, it's going to cost $1 million,

2:41 and it's all going to be paid for by taxpayers.

2:46 Here's John saying the ballroom went from same point,

2:49 200 million and privately funded to 300 million

2:51 to 400 million and taxpayers cover some of it.

2:53 Now MAGA is trying to silent jam through $1 billion,

2:56 100% of it is our taxpayer money for this ballroom.

3:01 Waste, fraud, and abuse in the Trump administration.

3:04 I'm just wondering where DOJ went.

3:06 Remember that whole DOJ thing, cutting wasteful spending?

3:08 I'm wondering where they are because building, you know,

3:11 an a billion dollar ballroom when there doesn't need

3:14 to be one seems like a little bit of wasteful spending.

3:17 Seems like a little bit of fraud maybe is taking place.

3:19 The final thing I want to show you before we get

3:21 into the article is this compilation

3:23 of videos put together of Donald Trump saying, "I It's not taxpayer funded.

3:28 It's privately funded.

3:29 You have nothing to worry about.

3:30 Watch." And I'm paying for it.

3:32 I'm paying for it.

3:33 The country is not We're donating a $400 million ballroom.

3:37 Myself and donors are giving them free of charge, for nothing.

3:42 We did this no charge to the taxpayer whatsoever.

3:45 Rich people and people are putting up the money.

3:48 Zero taxpayer dollars.

3:50 Think it'll cost $250 million, and it will be the I think

3:55 the finest It's about $300 million Approximately $400 million.

3:59 I think I'll do it for less, but it's $400.

4:04 I will do it for less, but just in case I say $400 Uh just it's

4:09 just funny how that number constantly is changing, isn't it?

4:12 Donald Trump says, "Oh, it's privately funded and it's 250,

4:15 but now it's 300, now it's 400, and also taxpayers are paying for it,

4:19 and now it's a billion dollars." So, let's talk about it.

4:22 Senate Republicans late Monday proposed $1 billion

4:26 to pay for new White House security measures

4:28 with lawmakers and White House officials disagreeing over

4:31 whether the legislation would cover Donald Trump's planned ballroom.

4:34 Senator Chuck Grassley, chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee,

4:38 laid out a funding package for security

4:40 upgrades related to the East Wing modernization project,

4:43 which sounds a lot like the ballroom,

4:45 the Trump administration's name for its planned ballroom.

4:49 Not exactly being secretive of again.

4:50 The proposed legislative text says the money would be used for both above

4:54 ground and underground security features

4:57 that the administration has declined to fully detail.

5:00 So, Republicans, Chuck Grassley, are advocating for us to just give money

5:05 to the Republicans and Donald Trump for unspecified reasons.

5:10 Trump hasn't told us what the money is going for.

5:12 So, essentially the government, our government,

5:15 is handing Donald Trump a billion dollar check

5:17 to just do whatever he wants with it.

5:19 Sounds like a bad idea if you're asking me.

5:22 The text explicitly says the money could not

5:24 be used for non-security elements of the project,

5:26 a reference to Trump's planned ballroom.

5:28 Quote, "This bill does not fund ballroom construction." [laughter]

5:34 I mean, you have to laugh.

5:35 That's so absurd.

5:37 The Republicans are actually trying to get you to believe that Donald

5:41 Trump is not going to use this money for the ballroom.

5:44 And even let's just say hypothetically,

5:46 it's not meant to be used for the ballroom, would that really stop Donald Trump?

5:50 And even if he does it, what are the Republicans going to do?

5:53 Are they going to try to hold him accountable for using money

5:55 that was appropriated for one reason and he did it for another?

5:58 I don't think so.

5:59 Accountability is not a word

6:00 in their vocabulary under Donald Trump's administration.

6:04 Chuck Grassley's spokeswoman said it provides funds

6:06 for Secret Service enhancements that will ensure all presidents,

6:09 their families, and their staffs are adequately protected.

6:12 And yet Donald Trump is the same guy who

6:14 has removed Secret Service protection for the Biden family,

6:17 for Kamala Harris, for different presidents.

6:19 And so obviously, they don't seem to very much care about that.

6:22 The legislative proposal comes amid a legal battle

6:25 over whether the project can proceed with a judge

6:28 last month ordering a halt to the above-ground

6:30 construction on the ballroom unless Congress authorizes the project,

6:34 saying that work related to national security can continue.

6:37 An appeals court panel has stayed Leon's order while it considers the case.

6:41 Construction on the project continues apace.

6:43 Photos taken in the past week shows

6:45 crews have erected a concrete structure topped

6:48 with columns of exposed rebar used

6:50 to reinforce pillars that will support additional floors.

6:53 So, despite any judge's ruling,

6:56 Donald Trump is just going to go forward with it.

6:58 Again, like he just doesn't care what a judge says.

7:01 This is what brings me back to, you know,

7:02 even if these Republicans are lying to us saying,

7:05 "Oh, the money is not for the ballroom." Trump

7:07 is going to use it for the ballroom anyway.

7:09 And they know that.

7:09 I mean, they know that.

7:10 Let's just be clear about that.

7:12 A White House official said Tuesday that the legislation,

7:14 if enacted, would authorize the entire project, [laughter]

7:18 including the above-ground ballroom.

7:20 So, the White House is saying, "Yeah,

7:21 we're absolutely going to use this money for the ballroom." While

7:24 Republicans in the Senate are trying to pretend that they're not,

7:27 that it's not actually the case.

7:29 Our our, you know, our government is a clown show.

7:32 Congress has rightly recognized the need for these funds,

7:35 a White House spokesman said in a statement citing the high-profile

7:38 incident last month at the White House Correspondents Correspondents Dinner.

7:42 The proposal would provide the United States Secret Service

7:44 with the resources they need to fully and completely

7:46 harden the White House complex in addition to many

7:49 other critical missions for the US Secret Service.

7:51 The legislation would be included in the Senate's

7:53 plan to budget reconciliation bill which can be enacted

7:56 with a simple majority bypassing any potential filibuster and eliminating

8:00 the need for Senate Republicans to court Democratic votes.

8:04 So, it is almost a certainty that you, me,

8:08 and everybody our taxpayer dollars that we work hard for that Donald

8:12 Trump is now in possession of will be used for the ballroom.

8:16 We are paying for it.

8:18 And I think every American going into the midterms

8:20 should remember that we are paying for it.

8:24 According to Donald Trump and the Republicans, to be clear.

8:28 Medicare, Medicaid, SNAP, education funding.

8:31 These programs are too expensive.

8:33 We have to cut funding from those programs because they're

8:36 just too expensive and there's too much waste going into them.

8:39 But, you know, the ballroom is is necessary.

8:41 It's important that you, me, and everybody we pay for the ballroom.

8:44 That's vital.

8:46 You know, I want my taxpayer dollars to be going to infrastructure projects,

8:50 to making my fellow Americans' lives better,

8:53 not Donald Trump's shitty ass ballroom where

8:56 he and his wealthy Epstein class buddies are going to be partying and shipping

8:59 it and and sipping chardonnay and eating steak.

9:03 I don't want that.

9:04 It's it's It's total crap that this is what's taking

9:06 place and it's total crap that they're doing it in secrecy.

9:09 They're just trying to slip it into the bill,

9:11 hope you, me, and everybody don't notice, and happy days.

9:15 But, we're not going to let them.
