Daily Driving a V8 2026 Ford F150 Tremor Review

Daily Driving a V8 2026 Ford F150 Tremor Review

TheStraightPipes

0:00 Today I got the 2026 Ford F-150 Tremor 5 L Coyote V8.

0:06 We're going to do a daily drive review and let's start

0:08 with a little bit of a two- wheelel drive traction off launch.

0:23 That sounds FREAKING GOOD.

0:26 HORSEPOWER AND TORQUE.

0:27 SO, we are getting 400 horsepower and 410 pound-

0:30 feet of torque from the 5 L Coyote V8,

0:33 which you can get as a slight upgrade in cost compared to the 3.5 L V6 EcoBoost,

0:39 which has 382 horsepower and 500 lb feet of torque.

0:43 And I think, you know, this this feels a little nicer.

0:47 Ram also recently brought back the Hemi,

0:50 but all of their Hemis came standard with the Sport exhaust,

0:54 which you could get instead of the Hurricane I.

0:56 So, uh, let's listen to both from the outside and inside,

1:00 and you tell me which one sounds better.

1:22 So, this obviously does not have the uh sport exhaust on it,

1:27 the standard exhaust.

1:27 I feel like it would be a lot better if it had one standard,

1:30 but you know, all good.

1:31 This is a Tremor.

1:33 This is a off-road truck, higher than like an FX4 package, lower than a Raptor.

1:38 And I think this is the highest trim F-150

1:40 you can get with those cool amber daytime running lights,

1:43 which I don't think we've reviewed anything with those yet.

1:46 I love the look of that.

1:47 I love those amber lights on the front of an F-150.

1:50 That looks great.

1:51 And then I do like the Tremor logo, you know?

1:53 I like the branding of that.

1:54 It's like not quite Raptor, but it's like still pretty good,

1:56 still pretty aggressive, still pretty capable.

1:59 do have 9 and a half inches of ground clearance, skid plates, tow hooks,

2:05 and then this one has the Torsson limited slip front differential,

2:09 a whole bunch of off-road stuff that me as a city slicker,

2:12 I'm not going to worry about cuz all I

2:14 did daily driving this was take my kid to school,

2:17 pick her up from school, and in between that time,

2:21 do stuff around the house because I had a truck.

2:24 And having a truck in your driveway makes

2:26 you feel like you got to haul stuff around.

2:27 So, first thing, daily driving.

2:29 When I get into my car in the morning, I can remote start it from the key fob.

2:34 That's perfect.

2:36 You can also connect to the app and everything,

2:37 but uh I have that all disconnected.

2:39 Next thing, I got to drive forward.

2:41 Huge hood.

2:42 Got to make sure there's no kids running in front.

2:44 I got a camera button and I can see perfectly in front of me,

2:47 which is also great for when I drop my kid off at school because

2:50 I want to have a 360 camera cuz little kids running around and stuff.

2:54 And with this 360 camera as a city slicker, super easy to park into tight spots.

3:00 Like I have not worried about maneuvering this thing

3:02 at all because the 360 cameras are so good.

3:04 Everything is so clear.

3:06 I freaking love that part.

3:07 I'm shocked at how good parking tight spots

3:10 is with this because of the 360 camera setup.

3:13 Guys, I forgot on the way to school, we get on the on-ramp and you floor it.

3:24 on the highway.

3:25 You got to pass someone, you floor it.

3:31 It sounds pretty good.

3:32 Could sound better.

3:33 But that's an important part of daily driving

3:35 in the city because there's nowhere else to floor it.

3:37 And there's nowhere to off-road this.

3:38 I literally could not find anywhere to off-road

3:41 this on my daily drive except for when I did some gardening,

3:46 got rid of a whole bunch of rocks and stuff in my yard.

3:49 I did have to drive to a dump where it was off-road,

3:53 you know, but I'm sure any car could do it.

3:57 But what's nice about this, we got the really cool tailgate in the back here.

4:00 I use that to swing open and then I can put these gigantic rocks

4:05 in there without having to put them over the tailgate and then slide it over.

4:11 And then I put a tarp there so I didn't scratch the bare metal part.

4:13 We got the liner in the back on the 5 and 1/2 ft bed.

4:17 It all worked perfect.

4:18 I loved it.

4:19 It was so good.

4:21 That little door, great.

4:22 And then I also used that little door for loading

4:25 up TVs that I wanted to sell old CRTs

4:27 on Marketplace because I was feeling productive cuz I have

4:29 this truck in my driveway and it made me feel productive.

4:32 So, I listed them on Marketplace and then the guy wanted to come to my house

4:35 and test them out cuz he needed to hook up some cool computer stuff to them.

4:38 I'm like, "Yo, I'll meet you at the gas station down the street." I used

4:42 the generator in the back to power those TVs so he could test them out.

4:46 So, with this car, my daily driving was people

4:49 don't have to come to my house for Facebook Marketplace,

4:51 which is an added bonus as well.

4:54 Rewind.

4:54 One thing I forgot when you get into the car,

4:57 we only have auto door unlocks in the front.

5:01 You can't just put your hand on the back and unlock that door.

5:04 So, that part is annoying.

5:06 You got to unlock and then come back.

5:07 And those side steps that are built in are

5:10 great for your kids to climb in and out.

5:12 I've got my baby seat and my front-facing child seat there.

5:18 Fit perfectly fine.

5:19 No issues.

5:20 You could even sit in the middle.

5:21 So, you could use this as a road trip car.

5:23 So, that like, you know,

5:24 if you got to go up north or whatever instead of having a third row.

5:28 This would be more like the expedition.

5:30 But one of the downfalls is if you put the stroller in the car,

5:34 the stroller's got to go in the bed.

5:37 And if it's raining, then it gets wet.

5:40 So, that part sucks compared to like an Expedition or a minivan.

5:43 And it's raining right now,

5:44 so it's not an unrealistic concern for daily driving with your kid.

5:50 But not everyone's got kids.

5:52 That's fine.

5:53 Uh towing.

5:55 This can tow.

5:56 So can the 3.5 L V6.

5:58 The 3.5 L V6 will tow 10,600 lb

6:02 where this will only tow 10,000 lb conventionally.

6:05 You can't get a max tow package and boost that up.

6:08 But I feel like you're just getting the V8 because it's a cooler motor, right?

6:10 That's part of it, too.

6:12 We don't have paddles like you would on a Raptor,

6:14 which kind of sucks because those are great.

6:16 So, I don't feel like shifting it.

6:17 But we got our gear.

6:18 Is it gear limiter?

6:18 Yeah, we got our gear limiter here on the cool shifter, which folds down.

6:23 And you know how many times I use that while daily driving this car?

6:27 Zero.

6:28 I just eat in my lap instead of folding it down.

6:31 But, you know, for using a laptop and stuff, we got power up front, too.

6:37 I do see this being very useful.

6:39 I just haven't had to use it.

6:40 But I have been using the cup holders daily driving with Tim Hortons.

6:45 No issues.

6:46 Absolutely perfect.

6:47 And then we've got our cell phone slot up front,

6:51 which I've been using wired CarPlay daily.

6:53 And I found a huge gigantic issue.

6:55 We first found that in the Ranger video a couple years ago.

6:58 When you've got your Google Maps in Apple CarPlay on satellite

7:02 view and you're listening to Spotify and your satellite view is up,

7:07 if you turn the radio or even if you just drive, it glitches out.

7:10 I used a tone on Spotify to show the exact spots where it cuts out.

7:22 They sent that to the engineering team here.

7:25 here.

7:25 Here's what the wrote.

7:25 They wrote pretty much that they they acknowledged the issue

7:28 and they're going to fix it in a future update.

7:30 But in the meantime,

7:31 if you just connect wirelessly to CarPlay, the issue goes away.

7:34 And it did go away.

7:35 And my mind didn't even think to do that because I love wired so much.

7:38 I'm blinded by how much I love wired CarPlay.

7:41 So, if you're having that issue as well,

7:44 just use wireless CarPlay until they fix it.

7:46 But, uh, shout out the Straight Pipes for getting out there and trying

7:50 to fix issue for people for their cars in the future, right?

7:53 Because if we can get this solved for all of y'all, you know,

7:57 feels like we're doing something good for the world

7:58 instead of just putting out a little review.

8:00 And the CarPlay very clear.

8:01 You can make it go all the way left and right with the little thing right there.

8:05 And then you got your thing on the right where

8:07 you can swipe up and down to see different things.

8:10 Menu buttons all at the bottom.

8:12 Very accessible.

8:12 We got our settings and features.

8:14 Features.

8:14 We have record feedback.

8:16 But I did log out of everything in this car in hopes to try

8:20 to free up some RAM so that the wired CarPlay would not lag.

8:25 So now I cannot send record feedback.

8:27 But in our feature setting, we also have driver assistance,

8:30 towing, and our trail turn assist, which I can't use cuz I can't find any

8:33 dirt to drive on or go off-roading in Toronto.

8:36 Even though we got these sick General Grabber tires,

8:38 which are the recommended tires that come

8:40 on this, which is a company owned by Continental.

8:43 So shout out generals today, but also you can get some Continentals for it.

8:47 Probably some terrain contact at or HT and then

8:50 the next thing you do daily driving is floor it.

8:59 It sounds really good.

9:01 Revs up to like almost 7,000.

9:02 No pumped in audio.

9:04 Just nice normal V8.

9:07 Simplicity.

9:08 I love it.

9:09 I love it.

9:09 Is there a dipstick?

9:10 There is a dipstick.

9:12 What's your Total Energy's recommended oil?

9:14 Look it up.

9:14 I look up on my GTO and my Miata.

9:18 Just got those out of storage.

9:19 Gonna get those oils changed soon.

9:22 So, shout out Total Energies.

9:23 Shout out this Jeff Gordon jacket that Jacob got me.

9:26 I'm finally wearing it since he's not here today.

9:27 He's at Mustang week.

9:29 That's why he's at Mustang week.

9:31 Speaking of Mustang week.

9:32 Yeah, this car is in uh this engine's in Mustangs, isn't it?

9:36 I think it has more horsepower and less torque in Mustangs.

9:39 And this has more torque and less horsepower.

9:42 Speaking of that, for like 10,000 bucks,

9:47 you can get the Ford Performance uh supercharger kit for this.

9:50 I think it gets you up to like almost 700 horsepower or something.

9:56 But that's not I don't think you can FP700 this.

9:58 I feel like FP700 was the best Ford truck we've ever driven.

10:02 I think even cooler than Raptors.

10:03 I missed that.

10:04 I forgot how FP700 works,

10:06 but if you could FP700 this, lower it, put street wheels on it.

10:12 No, then what's the point, right?

10:14 All right, other stuff.

10:15 Daily driving it.

10:16 Is your butt comfortable in the seat?

10:18 My butt has been unbelievably comfortable.

10:21 Look at these Tremor stitch seats with the orange piping everywhere.

10:24 I freaking love that.

10:26 Do I like Tremor more than I like Raptor?

10:28 No.

10:29 But I think it's better than FX4.

10:33 It's a It's a solid middle ground.

10:35 I think I said that in the Explorer video.

10:36 I like Tremor.

10:37 Tremor is a very cool thing.

10:39 We got forward back lumbar.

10:42 No up and down, but I feel like it's

10:43 in the perfect position for me, so I don't mind.

10:45 We can even move our pedals forward and back,

10:46 so if you're short, you can still reach the pedals just fine.

10:51 What other cool stuff do we have in here?

10:53 I like the material inside.

10:54 It's like jeans with stitching.

10:56 It's pretty cool.

10:56 Pretty cool.

10:58 Overall inside, nice.

10:59 Good sound system.

11:00 I feel like the camera button used to be up here, but now it's not.

11:04 But, uh, it's still pretty easy to find.

11:06 But I always liked it when the camera button was slap up

11:08 there just to make sure you're not driving towards any children or something.

11:12 There's like this car's got so many blind spots, it's hard to see.

11:14 But from up here, you can see we got some cool heat extractors on the hood.

11:18 Too bad there's no tremor splash.

11:20 I guess they got the logo, but like would a tremor splash be justified?

11:25 I don't know.

11:26 Uh, the wheels.

11:27 Don't mind the wheels.

11:29 dark blend in.

11:30 I am starting to kind of be okay with uh wheels

11:36 that blend in and not everyone needs to have wheels that pop.

11:39 I think that's my new theory on life.

11:41 It is okay to have black wheels.

11:42 It's okay to have dark wheels.

11:43 It's okay to have wheels that don't stand out.

11:46 Back to other stuff.

11:47 The color is marsh gray, but it's actually brown.

11:51 I like the color.

11:52 You know, I I I was mean to Subaru in their Outback.

11:56 I said, "Why do you guys get these bad colors?

11:58 They don't pop.

11:59 Get the cool blue cuz it was like a gray.

12:01 This is a gray, but it's a brown in this.

12:03 It works.

12:04 But I think cuz this works really well with orange.

12:06 Even though that Forester had orange, but this is like the hero car for tremors

12:10 where the Outback had blue as their hero color.

12:13 You know what I mean?

12:14 You know what I mean?

12:14 You understand?

12:15 Am I getting away from daily driving?

12:17 No.

12:17 No.

12:17 Daily driving.

12:18 You get a little open road.

12:20 Floor it.

12:24 Let all the EcoBoost owners know that you got the cooler motor.

12:29 Ah, I did have to put a long uh what is it?

12:33 Drainage vent.

12:34 Not drainage vent.

12:36 Ducted.

12:37 Whatever.

12:38 It wouldn't fit in the back.

12:40 I used that little window in the back and put it right through.

12:42 That was pretty sweet.

12:44 Donated some stuff at the thrift store.

12:46 That worked out pretty well.

12:48 Picked up some Hot Wheels stuff from my mom's house.

12:51 one of the city tracks, which is like the best track ever.

12:53 Shout out Hot Wheels.

12:55 That fit there just fine.

12:57 What other cool stuff did I daily?

12:58 I don't know.

13:00 I legit could not find a single piece of dirt to drive on.

13:03 But I guess the whole point of this is

13:06 to be able to tow stuff and go off-roading.

13:09 I think job site stuff.

13:10 So, if you're in the city and you're visiting job sites,

13:13 this car is this truck truck truck is great for that.

13:16 Head-up display, very big, nice head-up display.

13:19 Works great.

13:19 And when you start the car up,

13:20 it goes and turns into like from the headlights into all the stuff.

13:25 That looks pretty cool.

13:26 Volume knob, tuning knob.

13:28 Love that.

13:29 Love that.

13:29 And the buttons on the steering wheel are the same buttons, but on either side,

13:33 so it's very easy to know if you're doing volume or tuning.

13:37 Overall, you know, I like F-150s, I think, more than all the competitors.

13:41 Ram does sound better.

13:43 Uh, and then I guess I like wired CarPlay and theirs doesn't glitch.

13:47 So, if I was going to tsp.trcar.com,

13:50 I might search Ram a little bit more than searching F-150.

13:54 Other things I did daily driving this, I did use the off-roadness

13:57 to hop a Tim Horton's lineup curb to get into the line quicker.

14:01 And back to not being connected cuz I logged out of everything.

14:05 I looked up on the spec sheet for data.

14:08 You get 3 GB or 3 months free first as a trial for this.

14:13 I feel like three gigabytes to run satellite

14:15 view maps in Spotify will last you a week.

14:20 So that's why I always like not being connected.

14:22 I like having everything going through my phone

14:24 and using my projection instead of like built-in navigation,

14:27 which if I click my navigation, it works right now.

14:30 But if I click my search,

14:32 it tells me I need to activate my connected package to use that stuff,

14:37 which I don't want to do.

14:38 I just want to disconnect it.

14:39 So, I guess before we get to the price,

14:41 uh, let me know what you guys use tremors for.

14:45 If you have a tremor, what are you tremoring?

14:47 Or if it's you're just using this as a fashion truck like I do,

14:49 cuz I'm a city slicker.

14:51 The price of this one, 104, 95 Canadian,

14:56 which is a lot for any vehicle these days, but considering how capable this is,

15:01 how much room there is in here, like totally makes sense.

15:05 I get it.

15:06 Let me know.

15:06 Would you take this over a Ram uh

15:09 Rebel with the Hemi or the Silverado Trail Boss?

15:13 Maybe the ZR2, GMC Sierra AT4, Tundra TRD Pro?

15:19 Let me know.

15:19 Let me know where this falls.

15:21 We'll have to do another comparison soon.

15:22 Thanks for watching.

15:23 Thanks for subscribing.

15:24 Jacob will be back for Mustang week in no time.
