Police Stings #lastweektonight
LastWeekTonight
0:00 You probably know that cops like running sting operations
0:02 given just how often they appear on local news.
0:05 Drivers for the online ride service Uber targeted in an LA sting operation.
0:10 Dozens of people have been indicted
0:12 in a criminal sting operation called Operation Hush.
0:15 A 4-month major sting operation ends
0:17 with a Butler County man facing felony drug charges.
0:20 Investigators set up a sting operation orchestrating
0:22 a purchase with the suspected drug traffickers.
0:25 The amount of fentinel seas and hear this could
0:28 kill the entire population of Louisville several times over.
0:33 Wow.
0:33 Is that anchor?
0:35 Okay.
0:36 Cops say there was enough fentel to annihilate this god-forsaken town,
0:39 leaving behind nothing but a desert of crop peegged bones
0:42 future generations will only refer to as the shadow place.
0:45 Up next, we'll take you inside Louisville's new aquarium, which,
0:48 and hear this, contains enough water to drown us all several times over.
0:53 But whilst things are often celebrated as triumphs on the news,
0:56 when you start digging into them,
0:57 the details can quickly become questionable at best.
1:01 Take that Uber sting.
1:02 The way operations like those work is an undercover officer flags down an Uber,
1:06 maybe says they don't have the app or that their phone is dead,
1:08 and officers to pay cash for a ride to their destination.
1:11 The trap being ride share drivers are
1:13 subject to arrest if a ride isn't pre-arranged.
1:16 But that seems like a pretty shitty thing to do given drivers may have
1:19 been bending the rules to help someone who was telling them they were in need.
1:23 And that makes it kind of satisfying to watch this video shot by someone caught
1:26 in a similar sting who then went back
1:28 to the same location to warn other drivers.
1:32 Hey brother, those people are undercover cops.
1:34 I just got a citation for this.
1:36 Oh, really?
1:37 Yeah.
1:37 They trapped me.
1:41 Yep.
1:41 Good job, guys.
1:43 I'll see y'all in court.
1:44 Oh, I thought your phone was dead.
1:46 Oh, your phone ain't dead no more, huh?
1:49 Excellent.
1:49 Everything about that is great.
1:50 From the speed at which the driver pulls away when he hears the word
1:53 cops to the cop's clear disappointment to the glee of the guy taunting them.
1:58 I honestly haven't been this delighted to see a cop
2:00 on camera since that Boston big boy zooted out of the slide.
2:08 It's still so good.
2:10 It will never not be good.
2:12 If I die with a SMILE ON MY FACE,
2:14 YOU WILL know that that was the last thing I saw.
