Hour 4: Callers

Hour 4: Callers

ESPN College Football

0:00 [music] The pride, passion, and pageantry of college football lives here.

0:09 [music] This is the Paul Pinebomb Show, our Ford podcast.

0:15 This might be college football.

0:18 [music]

0:19 And welcome back.

0:20 One more hour to go and I man starts it all off.

0:22 Good afternoon.

0:24 [music] [bell]

0:25 Hey, good afternoon, Paul.

0:26 Thanks for taking my call.

0:28 You know, let me address something Swamp Dog said the other day.

0:31 He's talking about uh [music] somebody trying to cop the squirrel.

0:34 Well, Swamp Dog, you better sit down and brace yourself.

0:37 You might want to get you a Coke and [music] maybe some ice cream

0:40 and and and some whipped cream because I'm

0:42 fixing I'm going to put some toast on you.

0:45 All right.

0:45 First off, I was talking music.

0:47 I've been calling this program since 2001.

0:50 And and Paul and I have been talking music

0:52 and and Paul's Jam Taylor lookalike for a long, long time, my friend.

0:56 So this is nothing that you have brought to the table

0:59 new cuz we got a little game you know we play you

1:02 know I I we got this thing going on so it's nothing

1:06 absolutely nothing it's really nothing that you have brought to the table

1:11 and and the other side of that I believe the guy was from New Jersey

1:15 Paul that used to call in and he

1:18 always ended his call with Bruce Springsteen lyrics.

1:21 Oh yeah yeah exactly.

1:23 So, [laughter] so they're number two.

1:26 Number two, Swamp Dog, you're not original.

1:32 You know, we got this little thing going on.

1:33 Me and Paul, we got this little game.

1:35 We got this little game.

1:36 We We do.

1:37 We We know what we're doing.

1:38 No.

1:38 Hell you don't.

1:40 So, you need to be original.

1:42 You'll come up with something besides those are fillers

1:50 for nothing of thought when your brain is dead.

1:55 You're searching.

1:56 Those are searching verbs, I guess, or nouns.

1:58 What would they be?

1:59 Paul, you know, I mean, who who knows what the hell that is?

2:06 That's not even a lang grunting.

2:11 That's what it is.

2:12 Knuckle dragon grunting.

2:14 That's a stupid shirt all day long.

2:18 All right.

2:18 The second thing Chris made a com from South Carolina comment said,

2:22 you know, when it falls in their lap, then they going to come in.

2:25 Chris, I came to you a year and a half ago with them comments.

2:28 So, you need to hush your big ass mouth because you there there you are again.

2:32 I'm stand alone.

2:33 You ain't nothing but a dab damn wannabe.

2:37 And your coach sucks and you suck, too.

2:40 Now, Paul, you was talking about all

2:42 these awards and and and those kind of things,

2:45 and I went on the uh the X's and I kind of posted my memories

2:48 of the stories and tried to break it down the best I can remember.

2:52 But I do know this, when I started calling, and it had nothing to do with me.

2:57 I was just a caller of a hundred.

3:00 Elmo, Shane, uh, Phyllis, uh, uh, John from Chalkville, Ray, uh,

3:08 Don from downtown, Bob, Bobby, I mean, there was a hundred.

3:13 Liberty Bell, there was a hundred people that called.

3:17 And I tell you, if I'm not correct,

3:19 that's when Sports Illustrated walked in and said,

3:22 "You had the number 11 sports show

3:25 in country." And and we didn't always talk sports.

3:29 We talked about life.

3:31 We talked about everything.

3:32 So, you know, unless you people go back and listen

3:36 to that, I thought this WAS A SPORTS SHOW.

3:39 It's a sports show.

3:41 Talk sports.

3:42 Shut the hell up.

3:44 Because this show was recognized by Sports Illustrated in 2001 or two,

3:49 long before ESPN walked in as the number 11 show in the country.

3:55 So, if you don't know what you're talking about, shut your pie hole.

3:59 That's when the first conversation started.

4:01 Then ESPN picked it up.

4:03 Then ESPN started playing clips from this program on their game day program.

4:09 And and it was during the time

4:10 that Sports Illustrated brought uh recognition to the show.

4:14 That's when everybody was doing uh commercials.

4:18 I mean not commercials but interviews and and all

4:20 kind of things from Atlantic to Pacific,

4:23 from Mexico to Canada, all over the country.

4:25 newspaper, radio, TV, you name it.

4:28 That's when they was doing they was interviewing everybody.

4:31 And I tell you, the next reiteration of the show

4:34 is when Tammy and Charles Legend Kub came in.

4:39 And I tell you what,

4:40 that's when that's when the wheels really caught some traction.

4:44 and uh and and and that group there would be uh it'd

4:50 be as close to the uh uh Saturday Night Live second crew,

4:54 first crew as it as it was because I

4:57 mean that's when everybody stood up and really took

4:59 notice when those people came in and I tell

5:01 you I'd give special recognition to Legend and Kdub,

5:05 you know, they came in as a pair and I remember sitting back listening

5:09 to them for the first time and I thought that was the coolest thing.

5:12 I mean, they came in as a pair of thugs

5:14 on the street corner like they own that corner.

5:16 And they meant they own that corner.

5:19 And we talked on the phone several times,

5:21 but I tell you what, a special shout out to Kdub.

5:24 If anybody deserves to be in in that ring of honor,

5:27 he and Legend ought to probably be in it twice.

5:30 So, you got Legend in there once,

5:32 but Legend and Kdub as a duo definitely ought to be in there.

5:36 And I tell you the the people

5:37 that were there with the Sports Illustrated announcement,

5:40 they all ought to be in there because Katherine

5:43 even I mean because that's where the show kicked off.

5:47 And then of course it was during the time with Tammy

5:49 and and uh uh you know all the others, Larry and Squirrel.

5:54 That's when I've noticed Squirrel and uh several others.

5:58 That's when Harvey Updike came in and really launched this program into what

6:03 it is today with the War Eagle Road Tide movie and several books.

6:07 I mean, uh, Great Call.

6:09 There's all kind of things taking place.

6:11 So, there's a lot of people that really aren't original.

6:14 They're just callers.

6:15 They just want to be a part of the phone feud.

6:18 And, and you know, you just kind of let these last five,

6:21 eight years go as as you want to and you just make as you choose.

6:27 But I tell you what, it was it was all of those people that that kept this thing

6:31 going and and and kind of brought brought it to what it is.

6:35 And it's not been ESPNized.

6:37 You just got better guests and people want to hear

6:40 those guests and and that's great too because the show has evolved.

6:44 You have evolved.

6:45 But you know, one person I have not mentioned and uh and I tell you what,

6:51 if anybody deserves the recognition, no, it's not who you think it is.

6:55 is Pat Smith.

6:56 I tell you, you and Pat Smith doing the the thinking that y'all were doing.

7:01 Uh I I tell you [clears throat] what, I tip my hat to you.

7:04 I mean, y'all y'all looked out there and said,

7:06 "We're going to take a long shot at this." And what a home run after home run.

7:10 It reminds me of Bo Jackson in the All-Star game.

7:13 Home run, home run, home run.

7:15 Running over Boston.

7:18 It's a real football game.

7:20 It's a real radio show.

7:23 And if I failed to mention any of you, I apologize.

7:29 Damn Eagle.

7:32 Handsome Joe is up next.

7:37 Ro bombing.

7:37 You know what?

7:38 Hey, I I love Iron Man.

7:39 Paul, he makes me almost almost want to yell war down.

7:43 Almost.

7:44 He wants me to do that.

7:45 But I love everything he said.

7:47 And some of the things that he says, Paul,

7:49 was before I I've got the chance to listen to it.

7:52 So, I like I like these things like when he comes

7:54 in and says things like that I have no idea about, you know.

7:57 So, I I think the world of I man Paul.

8:00 But first off, I'll back this real quick.

8:02 Uh uh we've got Mr.

8:04 Spaghetti today, Paul.

8:05 But I wanted to say that we got

8:07 that we don't just hand out regulator badges to anybody.

8:10 But we did we did enshrine Trey.

8:12 Trey is now a regulator.

8:13 I wanted to say that, Paul.

8:15 But this feud that was going on, uh it ain't really a feud.

8:19 I I want this known.

8:20 I stand squarely with I man and squirrel

8:23 on this because when you start going after their health,

8:25 their family, their children, that's crossing the line.

8:28 I've only done that one time in my life

8:30 and I apologize the very next day on on your air.

8:33 I did.

8:34 And it don't matter if I was killed to that individual.

8:36 But you don't go after their family.

8:37 And that just and not only that, Paul, that that's that's bad enough on its own,

8:42 but when you start using racial slurs and and you can say,

8:46 "I've had a bad day, but when this has happened more than one time,

8:50 this is this habit, it it's not just a one day having a bad day.

8:54 It's somebody needs to lay off the whiskey.

8:56 Somebody needs to quit drinking pretty bad and needs and needs rehab

9:00 really bad because that's the only way that's going to change this.

9:03 And the law enforcement can't do it.

9:05 They can make you go, but you got to want to change it.

9:08 And and right now, I hope AJ's getting the message that he needs to change.

9:12 Cuz right now, these Don Johnson jackets don't mean nothing.

9:15 They're more like these old dirty, you know, members only jackets.

9:19 And who the hell wants to be a member of them dumb asses?

9:22 I mean, come on, AJ.

9:23 Get alive, brother.

9:24 I mean, you got to you got to if you're going to get

9:26 on here and and you're going to film and all this stuff, not on here,

9:30 but on on your own little space at nighttime,

9:33 you and you have people that want to come in because

9:35 they want to hear some of these callers out here.

9:37 And when you start with that bull crap, AJ,

9:40 you're just going to have a bunch of people that hate you.

9:43 And anybody wants to be associated with you right now,

9:45 the way you are, you can change,

9:47 but the way you are right now,

9:48 I'd rather get kicked in the navs by a mule than be friends with you right now.

9:52 So, brother, you better straighten up quick, AJ.

9:55 You better straighten up quick because I tell you what, the cows has come home.

9:58 The cows has come home and it's revealed exactly what's in your heart.

10:03 And you need to change.

10:04 You need to change.

10:05 You need Jesus.

10:06 You need rehab.

10:06 I don't know what you need, but until you reach out to change yourself.

10:10 I don't want to hear, "I just had a bad night." Just a bad night.

10:14 Everybody has a bad night.

10:16 I've had bad nights.

10:17 I've had several bad nights.

10:19 But it did not make me say the things that you're saying ever.

10:22 ever, ever.

10:22 I've had days I didn't want to live, but it didn't make me start lashing out

10:26 these things that you've been spewing this venom.

10:29 So, get a life, AJ.

10:30 Straighten up, brother.

10:31 And until you do that, nobody gives a damn about you.

10:34 But Paul, anyway, thank you for your time.

10:36 You have a good brother.

10:38 Peace and roll tide roll, my man.

10:40 Take a short break.

10:41 We still have 45 minutes remaining here on a Monday.

10:46 [music]

10:46 You're listening to the Paul Fang Bomb Show podcast.

10:52 back in Cornwall in PA is up next.

11:01 Cornwall.

11:03 Hello.

11:04 Is this Paul?

11:05 Uh, it is.

11:06 Yes, Paul.

11:08 This is Cornwall from the north north part of the Pennsylvania.

11:13 All I got to say is this.

11:16 I'm on the SEC Network and I just got a hate.

11:19 How soft is the SEC recently?

11:22 What is going on?

11:23 [snorts] The Big 10, we're just dominating.

11:26 Are you guys a little bit nervous that there's going to be another Big

11:30 10 team that's going to win an Attie like my Penn State NE Lions?

11:34 [laughter] I'm sorry.

11:38 All right.

11:38 You don't have to laugh at that.

11:39 Come on.

11:40 Come on.

11:40 I remember last year I remember one

11:42 of my colleagues picked Penn State to win it all.

11:45 Yeah.

11:45 There was a lot of uh the drug epidemic in America right now is bad.

11:51 Yeah.

11:53 Well, Cornwall, I'll let the I'll let the callers speak for themselves,

11:56 but I I don't know too many people who

11:58 are shivering right now because of the Big 10.

12:03 Are you sure?

12:03 I mean, yeah, I got a pretty decent pulse.

12:06 Who I feel like

12:08 like Texas going to have a couple more issues?

12:10 Kirby Smart, he hasn't won a playoff game in, you know, a little bit now.

12:15 Kind of being Yeah, you know, you're right.

12:17 Yeah.

12:17 By the way, Coral, I have to agree.

12:18 Kirby Smart has not won a playoff

12:20 game since he won two straight national championships.

12:23 So, when's the la the last time Penn State won a national championship?

12:26 Do you remember?

12:26 We won it in my hearts.

12:27 All right.

12:28 That game against Clemson that came like maybe it was in the uh was in the 80s.

12:33 I can't I can't remember.

12:34 I wasn't even born when they [laughter] Yeah.

12:37 I think it I think it was too long ago to remember, but thanks for the call.

12:40 Vance is up next.

12:42 Hey Vance, another turd from up north for meaning nothing.

12:49 God almighty, I didn't need that.

12:52 Uh [snorts] the young the lady the mom from Texas kind

12:57 of narrowed it down for me and I believe everything she said.

13:02 I I'm afraid to say her name cuz I think I'll mispronounce it.

13:07 But I think it was Samra to hear

13:11 to hear that interview and and the fact that because of what

13:15 possibly is going on with NIL could could be affecting our youth sports.

13:22 Did I hear that correctly?

13:24 Well, no, it's not NIL.

13:25 It's private equity.

13:30 Well, this that that's horrifying.

13:32 it the these kids, girls or boys and and I know the and I

13:38 do believe that the uh the proper term of of village will come to bat,

13:45 not the political term.

13:48 These kids got Paul this this can't be.

13:54 I'd rather my president look straight at the screen

13:57 in front of a microphone and point his finger and say,

14:01 "You people at the NCAA, you can fix your own mess,

14:07 but I'm going to make damn sure our kids have a place to play youth sports.

14:13 We know how many stories there are of without that what might

14:19 have happened to other youths." And that was horrifying to hear, Paul.

14:26 The the girls that Paul, they need a home.

14:31 And and if we can't provide that, then what are we going to do?

14:35 Does that does that register with you at all?

14:37 No, it does.

14:38 No, that's why we had the guest on.

14:39 Vance, thank you for the call.

14:40 Cat Daddy is up next.

14:44 Big Paul, thank you so much for accepting my call.

14:48 Uh the guy from Long, South Carolina.

14:52 You remember talking to him?

14:53 Cuz I I sure do.

14:54 I live in East I live in East South Carolina.

14:58 I've never heard of Long South Carolina.

15:01 But I just wanted to emphasize that.

15:04 No.

15:04 Cat Daddy.

15:05 Cat Daddy.

15:06 His name is Long.

15:07 He does not live in Long.

15:08 He is Long.

15:09 And then he lives in South Carolina.

15:13 All right.

15:14 Well, I'm I'm 70 years old, so my age is catching up with me.

15:17 I apologize, but he was right on.

15:20 I loved what he had to say today, [snorts] and I just wanted to emphasize that.

15:25 And once again, can you tell me again how much

15:29 you think my Gamecock's going to be better this coming year?

15:33 I think they're going to have a surprisingly good season.

15:35 Kad, thank you for the call.

15:37 And William is up next in Tennessee.

15:43 Hello, Paul.

15:43 I want to respond to the the guy on private equity in sports.

15:49 Uh and first of all, Sam, is it Samra?

15:52 Her call was great.

15:53 I don't agree with all of it, but it was a good call.

15:56 You know, the the the guy on private equity,

15:59 he never defines private equity, Paul.

16:01 Uh you sports is fragmented.

16:05 You know, the travel in baseball or basketball

16:10 is much different than football and other

16:13 I tell you, we we are having way uh William, hold on one sec.

16:16 We're going to try we're going to try to get you back on in a minute.

16:18 There's just too much static on the on the line.

16:21 So, we'll hear some more static right now by going to Stimp in Texas.

16:28 Hey, thanks for taking my call.

16:29 And uh Paul, that hate that Blake Cotmmy is talking about,

16:33 well, it must not run that deep.

16:35 Or maybe the fans are just that shallow because Handsome

16:38 Joe just admitted he was thinking about saying Waram Eagle.

16:42 And Paul, what you need to do is add on a segment similar to that game show,

16:46 are you smarter than a fifth grader?

16:48 But just change it to are you smarter than a fine bomb caller?

16:51 Because I'm telling you, if you took the IQ,

16:54 PA, uh, kindergarten screening scores, whatever it may be,

16:58 from all the callers combined on this show,

17:00 I think you'd be left with a pretty high tally.

17:02 And that's only if you don't forget to add the main ingredient,

17:06 Professor Tboy, or my bad, Professor Rick in Houston.

17:09 His cat and him are definitely sitting alone

17:11 on their little purse in the 99th percentile.

17:14 He He's like the wheels on the bus, Paul.

17:16 He makes this show go round and round.

17:18 I mean, seriously, is he standing in front

17:20 of of in front of a chalkboard whenever he calls in?

17:23 I I need a translator to dumb it down for me.

17:25 Am I supposed to be taking notes, Paul?

17:27 And now, I know he looks like someone who may

17:29 live in a Lego Fortress and has never missed a Comic-Con.

17:32 But without a doubt, he's the valid Victorian of the Fine Bomb Academy.

17:36 He's also the number one ranked Dungeon and Dragon players in the world.

17:39 But Paul, I got one more thing.

17:40 Did you hear about the new custom

17:42 TV remotes designed specifically for this show?

17:45 the inspiration behind it all.

17:47 Caller JD from Alabama.

17:49 Yeah, it's only gonna have two buttons, a power button and a mute button.

17:53 I wish they would have figured out the functionality of that third button,

17:56 but unfortunately they couldn't because you can't fast forward live television.

18:00 And I actually found that out the very first time I ever heard JD.

18:03 And I still never pass up that hole

18:04 in the dryway or drywall I stuck my head through either.

18:08 I I mean, seriously, JD, you're better than that.

18:10 Well, never mind.

18:11 I'll take that back.

18:12 But cuz what you call me on Friday, a blooming idiot.

18:15 Wow, JD.

18:16 How'd you think of that one?

18:18 Were you wedged in between the booth and the table

18:19 at an outback steakhouse woofing down one of those blooming onions?

18:23 Take a hike, JD.

18:24 Preferably to the North Pole with you

18:26 and every mall stand that ever looked like you.

18:28 Irish fire thing in there.

18:30 Okay, let's try William again.

18:34 Oh, I'm I'm sorry.

18:35 I hope hope this is better.

18:37 It is.

18:39 Okay.

18:39 Well, I want to let's let's let's break

18:42 this down into some simple thoughts for a minute.

18:45 Uh I thought Samur was had a great call,

18:47 but I disagree with some of the things she said.

18:50 But who who is private equity in youth sports?

18:52 You now you've got organizations like Ripken,

18:56 Cal Ripken that has these massive youth baseball.

19:01 Yeah.

19:01 Some something is wrong with Williams phone.

19:03 So we we will check with you when you get a new phone.

19:06 Why don't we take a break?

19:06 More to come after this.

19:11 [music] You're listening to the Paul Finebomb Show podcast.

19:15 Daryl is up next in Baton Rouge.

19:20 Good afternoon, Paul.

19:21 Thanks for taking my call, man.

19:23 Pretty good day, Paul.

19:24 I'm sitting on my back porch smoking a good cigar.

19:27 Man, it doesn't get much better than this.

19:29 Beautiful weather.

19:30 Looks great outside.

19:34 Um, I don't know if you heard, but Kean landed another top commitment yesterday.

19:40 Did you hear about it?

19:42 I have not.

19:42 Tell us all about it.

19:45 His name's Ahmad Hudson.

19:46 He's 6'6, 240 lb tight end.

19:51 He's rated number one.

19:53 Yeah, by the way, I'm sorry.

19:54 Now that you mentioned that, I did hear about that.

19:56 He's the number one tight end in the country.

19:57 That's a That's a big pickup.

20:00 Oh, yeah.

20:01 Yeah.

20:01 2027 class.

20:03 Looks like he's not only going through the portal,

20:05 he's doing a good job getting high school recruits for them.

20:09 Looks pretty good.

20:10 Now, Darl, he's he's an amazing recruiter

20:12 and he if he can keep this thing together,

20:14 he's going to win a national championship.

20:16 Chris is up next in South Carolina.

20:18 Hello, Chris.

20:20 Oh, man.

20:21 I had a call back for two reasons, Paul.

20:23 The first reason, I figured that you had a vacant spot in this time slot.

20:28 [laughter] Second reason is because man, one thing I hate, man,

20:34 one thing I hate is a person that's a weasel, Paul.

20:40 Because Yeah.

20:41 Yeah.

20:42 You You can sit here and be mad,

20:44 but And I I started figuring out why he's so mad.

20:47 Why he's so why he's so why he's like like he is.

20:50 And that's our man.

20:51 I finally figured it out because he's so scared

20:55 that he can't write the ending of this show.

20:57 Yeah.

20:58 He can sit here and cite how it started.

21:00 He can sit here and tell the step by step giving honor to it.

21:03 There's nothing wrong with that.

21:04 But the thing he's worried about the most is that he can't control the ending.

21:09 He's a little weasel.

21:11 That's why he hangs out with Squirrel cuz he's a weasel, Paul.

21:14 Just watch him.

21:15 Yeah, he came in with them comments.

21:17 Yeah, you did.

21:18 But you kept going in there supporting until

21:21 when you it didn't benefit you, I man.

21:24 That's exactly what I'm saying.

21:26 You didn't do what Tracy did.

21:27 You didn't do what Rick did.

21:29 You kept going in there supporting until it didn't benefit you no more.

21:33 So quit being a little weasel you are and quit mentioning my name.

21:36 Just drop it and leave it what it is.

21:38 Have a nice day.

21:39 Paul JD is up next.

21:40 Good afternoon.

21:44 Hey Paul, it's good to talk to you buddy.

21:46 I had talked to you in a while since we was talking

21:48 about NIL when it first started with Hershel Walker and Bo Jackson.

21:51 What would have happened in college football?

21:55 Uh what's funny to me is you got you got people calling

22:00 in here that want to uh run game on on all these other callers,

22:07 but I've been listening to you when you

22:10 was a columnist back at the at the newspaper.

22:14 Yes, sir.

22:15 I I watched you grow.

22:16 I've watched you grow.

22:18 I'm 51 years of age and I grew up in in in Birmingham, Alabama.

22:23 I probably haven't been more than 300 miles one way or the other.

22:28 And to sit here and and listen to these people blossiate about

22:36 their teams and not understand that sometimes we have to put things down.

22:45 Sometimes we have to come together as one

22:49 people as sometimes we have to gravitate

22:53 towards a very positive thing which is Paul

22:57 Finebomb and I appreciate what you do man.

23:01 You you absolutely unify a lot of people in a lot of states and damn the Big 10.

23:09 Damn the Big 10.

23:11 Like I ain't got nothing for them.

23:13 Now ACC, we'll give you some love.

23:15 We'll give you some luck cuz you on you you kind

23:17 of south and you know just because we got Texas and Oklahoma,

23:23 we we'll give Utah and Nevada a little too.

23:27 But at the same time, you you you need a pat on the back and and all these other

23:35 people want to sit here and argue back and forth with each other.

23:39 Let's come together and be a be a person by ourselves.

23:43 Let's be a person by oursel.

23:45 I love you Paul.

23:46 Thank you.

23:47 Thank you so much.

23:48 JD, you take care of yourself.

23:50 Derek is up next in Louisiana.

23:52 Hello Derek.

23:56 Hey Paul, thanks for taking my call today.

23:58 How you doing?

23:59 Wonderful.

24:00 Thank you.

24:02 Awesome.

24:02 Awesome.

24:03 Hey Paul, just a couple of things here.

24:05 Uh the new 5:30 time slot.

24:07 Um, I know that was a was a AJ thing and I know the back

24:11 and forth and I I'm not too much mixed in with the with the FAH crowd,

24:15 but but I think I'm going to take over the 5:30

24:17 time [laughter] slot and it's available and and Paul next awesome.

24:22 I think I'm taking it over.

24:23 Hey Paul, next thing uh you know that Cornwall guy, I actually agree with him.

24:28 You know, the Big 10 has just the SEC's got to step it up.

24:32 They got to step up the game and and uh the one

24:35 thing I will say uh Penn State got got by James Franklin.

24:38 Now James Franklin is the Mark Stoops of the Big 10.

24:43 He he just he he wasn't he wasn't any good and he you know

24:47 had a couple of good defenses here and there but uh Paul mainly I

24:51 was just calling because I am taking over the 530 callin slot and if

24:54 anybody has an issue with it they can take it up from Derek from LA.

24:57 Thanks Paul.

24:59 Great to hear from you.

24:59 Thank you so much.

25:00 Anna is up next in Alabama.

25:05 Hey call, how are you today?

25:06 We are doing great.

25:07 Thank you.

25:09 Good.

25:09 I had a question about home and away games and conference games that are

25:15 decided I guess based on the number each school is supposed to have.

25:20 But how do those schools, Florida, Georgia I believe, and Oklahoma, Texas,

25:24 that get the neutral site every year,

25:27 how do they determine they get to just keep playing there?

25:30 Are they paying more money or just an agreement that keeps getting

25:34 Yeah, I mean they they make a significant

25:36 amount of money from there's an organization in Jacksonville,

25:39 one in Dallas, and it is they rotate.

25:44 One would be a home game one year

25:46 and the other even odd however it works for both.

25:50 Now this year I think Florida Georgia is going to be on campuses, isn't it?

25:55 Is this the year they're they're Yeah.

25:58 So it's going to be in Atlanta and then at Tampa.

26:00 But the OU Texas game has always been in Dallas.

26:03 It's just something uh we've been to it

26:05 before and it's just something on the calendar.

26:08 So that's how that works.

26:09 uh in the in there used to be like

26:12 you may you probably too young to remember but Auburn,

26:14 Alabama used to be in Birmingham.

26:17 Oh yes sir.

26:18 I've I've heard a lot about that.

26:19 I wish we could bring it back to Legion Field and there's all kind of I

26:24 guess but I was just curious about if

26:26 the do the students travel in your experience.

26:29 Yeah.

26:29 No, I mean it's a it's a interesting I think um Yeah.

26:35 Yeah.

26:36 Georgia, I believe, has fall break.

26:37 So, so you're able to get down there,

26:39 but it's more for the uh the uh upper class.

26:44 I mean, the big thing about Jacksonville, I'm told,

26:47 I haven't ever been there for this, but all the beach stuff,

26:51 you know, Pontedra up and down the coast,

26:53 that's where they hang out for a couple of days.

26:55 Uh, and you know, we stay in Jacksonville a lot, so you see people there,

26:59 but it's more of it's more of a I mean, people plan that thing years in advance.

27:04 Hey, thanks so much for the call, Ann.

27:05 I really do appreciate it.

27:06 John is up next.

27:07 Good afternoon.

27:11 Hey, Paul.

27:12 [clears throat] I'm talking the 60s.

27:15 Do you remember this 1960s young man?

27:19 Uh yes, John.

27:20 I vaguely remember them.

27:22 Okay.

27:22 Do you remember this the uh the great Smother's brother's comedy hour?

27:28 I do.

27:28 Yes.

27:28 Sunday night.

27:30 And you know they would have a guest on there who was absolutely fantastic.

27:37 Do you remember Mom's Mabe?

27:40 I remember seeing her once or twice.

27:42 Yes.

27:44 Okay.

27:44 Well, here's my my message from moms to AJ Paul.

27:48 And this is a special message because AJ's a special person, isn't he?

27:53 AJ, you are a disgrace.

27:55 And I'm getting in the big Toyota 2023 Tundra.

28:00 I'm driving with mom down to the Tallahhatche

28:05 bridge and we're going to take you, boy.

28:08 We're going to throw you off that bridge and teach you

28:10 a lesson because [clears throat] you have a foul mouth, AJ.

28:13 You're a disgrace.

28:15 Good night.

28:16 [music] I think a lot of people were nodding their head during that call.
