CBS Sports Golazo
0:00 It wasn't just my life, it was my life with my wife and my kids, you know.
0:05 So, it was the whole thing.
0:06 If I was going to do it,
0:08 I wanted to do it properly.
0:09 Once I decided that, then it was about finding the right director.
0:13 And I' I'd met a couple of director,
0:15 three or four directors, and and nothing felt right.
0:18 And I was getting to the point where I thought maybe this is a sign.
0:21 Maybe I'm not going to do it.
0:22 And then I phoned a friend that is in the the movie industry,
0:26 and he turned around to me and he said,
0:28 "You have to speak to Fisher." The moment I met Fischer,
0:31 I knew that he was going to make me feel uncomfortable,
0:34 which I needed to bring things out in me.
0:36 And every single session that we sat down,
0:38 he made me feel uncomfortable every single time.
0:41 I tried my best.

0:44 to to make that decision of taking taking that on.
0:47 How was that in terms of figuring that that aspect of it out?
0:50 I didn't want to do it originally.
0:52 The guy he's talking about is Leonardo DiCaprio,
0:55 who I've done a bunch of docs with.
0:56 They called me and said to meet David and I was like why me blah blah blah like
1:00 I don't know football I love it but was
1:02 I qualified American and I wasn't sure and I was
1:05 acting on Succession at the time and the writers
1:08 were all British and I called them and I spoke
1:11 to David's people about this possibility and they were
1:14 like are you crazy he's a legend you have to
1:18 but that's what that's what I loved about
1:20 Fischer you know obviously a Liverpool fan that's American
1:26 that would come at the story in a totally different
