3:36 the most from egypt my family and my friends i try to go home often but it's

5:05 transportation services listen to these comments
5:10 about transportation services the buses
5:14 are old and slow and they cause too much pollution
5:18 in cities with less pollution people are healthier there are
5:23 too many cars all the cars taxis and buses are
5:27 a danger to bicyclists there is too much traffic there
5:32 should be fewer cars but i think that the biggest
5:35 problem is parking there just isn't enough parking listening singapore solves
5:45 it listen to a resident of singapore talk about how
5:49 his city has tried to solve its traffic problems singapore
5:54 has done a lot to try to solve its traffic
5:56 problems for example to drive into the downtown business district
6:01 motorists need to buy a special pass they can go
6:05 into the business district only if they have the pass
6:08 on their windshield another thing singapore has done is to make
6:12 it more difficult to buy cars people have to apply
6:16 for a certificate before they can buy a car not
6:19 everyone can get a certificate there's a limited number of them
6:23 there's also a high tax on cars so a new one costs a lot of money a car can cost
6:30 three or four times more in singapore than in the u.s
6:33 or canada the other thing singapore has done is build
6:38 an excellent public transportation system their subway system is one
6:43 of the best in the world and there's also a very
6:46 good taxi and bus system conversation could you tell me

10:09 from the games now i didn't have a favorite though i
10:12 liked a lot of them what about a favorite place

12:36 when i don't feel like going all the way home
12:39 i sometimes stay in a capsule hotel a capsule hotel
12:43 can you explain what that is yeah it's a hotel
12:47 with lots of small rooms actually they're not really rooms
12:52 they're spaces that are two meters by one meter and only
12:55 a meter high in other words they're very cramped
12:59 but the hotel is cheap and very convenient and what's inside
13:04 each little room or should i say each space well
13:08 inside every capsule there's a bed a tv a tv really
13:14 yeah and a reading light a radio and an alarm
13:17 clock the hotel also has lockers where you can keep
13:20 your personal belongings interesting so what kind of people stay

13:31 the last train home or don't want to go all
13:34 the way home only to turn around and come back

13:40 imagine finally would you recommend a capsule hotel to other people
13:46 sure the rooms are small but you get used to sleeping

20:18 talking about you should tell the driver where you're going
20:22 before you get on and you have to have exact
20:25 change for the fair when you fly you should keep important
20:30 things in your carry-on bag such as your medication
20:33 and credit cards you shouldn't pack them in your checked luggage
20:38 you should try some of the local specialties but you'd
20:41 better avoid the stalls on the street in most countries you
20:46 don't have to have an international driver's license but you
20:50 must have a license from your own country you also
20:53 need to be 21 or over you ought to pack
20:57 a first aid kit and any medication you need you shouldn't
21:01 drink water from the tap you ought to keep a copy
21:05 of your credit card numbers at the hotel and you
21:08 shouldn't carry a lot of cash when you go out
21:14 listening tourist tips listen to an interview with a spokeswoman
21:20 from the new york city visitor center what should people
21:28 do to make their visit to new york city safe
21:31 and pleasant don't try to do too much in a short
21:35 time that's very important you should start planning before you
21:39 get here you ought to decide in advance which sites
21:43 you most want to see are there any good tours
21:46 available oh yes there are many some companies offer bus
21:51 tours that stop at all the major tourist attractions you can
21:55 buy a pass so you can get on and off
21:58 wherever you like that saves you time and you should
22:02 visit our website to find out about the latest tours
22:05 and special events i see and is new york a safe
22:09 city for visitors it's safer than many cities in the world
22:13 but just like in any big city you should still
22:16 be careful for example don't go off on your own
22:20 especially at night and never carry much cash on you oh
22:25 and don't be afraid to ask questions even american visitors
22:29 have to ask for help when they come here you'll
22:32 find that new yorkers are pretty friendly they like welcoming
22:36 visitors to their city and are happy to give directions one
22:40 last thing is it an expensive city to visit
22:44 it can be but there are a lot of places
22:46 in the city where you don't have to spend a lot
22:49 of money if you're a student you should bring your student
22:52 id card with you that way you can get
22:55 a discount at museums and galleries is there anything else you'd
22:59 like to add yeah just that most people have a great
23:04 time when they come to new york and i'm sure

25:11 do welcome to this week's program do men have it
25:21 easy where we'll take a look at the roles and responsibilities
25:25 of men and women in families first thanks to all
25:29 of you who responded to our survey john thanks jennifer
25:33 later on in the program we'll be taking your phone
25:35 calls and talking to dr walters a family psychologist who will
25:39 answer your questions and now for the results of the survey
25:43 jennifer well in response to the first question who
25:47 is the messiest person in the house the answer was
25:51 boys 92 percent of you said that your sons or brothers
25:55 don't help much around the house they don't pick up
25:58 their things don't hang up their clothes and leave their clothes
26:03 lying around interesting and what about the second question jennifer
26:08 that was who does most of the work in the kitchen
26:11 well 84 of you answered women many of you also
26:16 explained that the boys and men usually take out the garbage
26:20 the girls and women tend to cook do the dishes
26:23 and clean up and what about the groceries jennifer well
26:27 according to our results boys and girls usually put
26:30 the groceries away that's surprising so what else do the women
26:34 do ah well that's our next question who worries most
26:39 about expenses in the majority of homes it seems that women
26:44 worry most about household expenses one young man wrote
26:48 to us saying my mother always nags me and my sister
26:52 she tells us to get off the phone to stop
26:55 spending so long on the computer to turn off the tv
26:59 well everything really i always thought she just liked
27:02 to nag but maybe she's really worried about money i think
27:07 that's probably true don't you john yes very interesting and now
27:12 i'd like to introduce dr walters perspectives reasonable requests are
27:23 all the requests reasonable one could you please tell

27:31 to make sure i'm not at home two can you
27:37 turn the music down please the walls are really thin so
27:40 the sound goes through to my apartment three would you
27:46 mind closing the door behind you and making sure it locks
27:50 we don't want strangers to enter the building four would
27:56 you please tell your guests to use the visitor parking spaces
28:00 a lot of cars have been using my space recently
28:05 five would you mind not putting your garbage in the hallway

29:57 of it listen to a radio program about the internet
30:07 we've all heard stories about how internet use is growing today
30:11 however we're talking with someone who has studied people who
30:14 don't use the internet let's welcome dr tom van cleave
30:19 to the program thank you it's nice to be here
30:22 thanks for coming now i understand that many people still don't
30:27 use the internet is that right what can you tell
30:31 us that's right my research has revealed that in the united
30:35 states for example about 22 percent of the population never
30:40 uses the internet and why is that well they tend
30:44 to be older people or people living in more rural
30:47 areas but there are also those who worry about privacy
30:52 or who think that the internet isn't necessary in their lives
30:56 some of these people are even proud to be independent
30:58 from the online world interesting in your new book
31:03 you mention net evaders can you explain what you mean
31:07 by this well lots of people live with someone who
31:10 browses websites but they still don't log on themselves i call
31:15 this group net evaders i found that these people may
31:19 ask a family member to send emails for them for example
31:23 but they don't want to do it themselves i know
31:26 someone like that yes and then there's another group of people
31:31 i call internet dropouts internet dropouts what exactly does
31:37 that mean it refers to people who once used the internet
31:42 but have stopped using it for some reason they may
31:45 not have a computer anymore may not have enough time
31:49 or simply may not be interested i see well thanks
31:54 very much for sharing that information with us dr van cleave

34:07 i already have a gift for my boyfriend new year's
34:11 eve is a night when i have fun with my friends
34:14 we usually have a big party we stay up all
34:17 night and then go out for breakfast in the morning
34:23 listening carnaval time mike has just returned from brazil listen
34:31 to him talk about carnaval what was his favorite thing about
34:36 it isn't this music fantastic it's from a samba cd
34:45 that i got when i was in brazil for carnival carnival
34:49 is a big party or celebration and usually lasts
34:53 for four days it's in late february or early march
34:57 but you need to book a hotel room early because
35:00 hotels fill up really quickly people celebrate carnival all over brazil
35:06 but the most famous party is in rio de janeiro
35:09 there are colorful decorations all over the city it's really
35:13 beautiful and everyone is very friendly especially to visitors from other
35:17 countries my favorite thing about carnival is the big parade
35:22 the costumes are amazing people work on them for months
35:26 it's really fantastic to watch everyone dances the samba
35:30 in the streets i'd really recommend you try to go
35:33 to rio for carnival conversation wedding day listen and practice your wedding
35:46 pictures are really beautiful emiko thank you those pictures are
35:52 from right after the ceremony where was the ceremony at a shrine
35:57 when people get married in japan they sometimes have
36:00 the ceremony at a shrine that's interesting were there a lot
36:04 of people there well usually only family members and close
36:09 friends go to the ceremony but afterward we had
36:12 a reception with family and friends so what are receptions
36:17 like in japan there's a big dinner and after the meal
36:21 the guests give speeches or sing songs it sounds like
36:26 fun it really is and then before the guests leave
36:30 the bride and groom give them presents the guests get presents
36:35 yes and the guests give money to the bride and groom
36:43 listen to the rest of the conversation what did the bride
36:46 and groom give each guest i'm curious what did you
36:51 and your husband give everyone well sugar is a symbol
36:55 of happiness in japan so he gave each guest a box
36:59 filled with sweets what a nice custom it sounds like
37:03 it was a wonderful day oh it really was listening
37:12 marriage customs listen to some information about marriage customs one
37:21 you know this book about marriage customs is really interesting oh
37:25 yeah yeah listen to this it talks about this native
37:29 tribe in paraguay uh-huh when two women in the tribe
37:33 want to marry the same man guess what they do
37:36 i have no idea what they have a boxing match
37:39 and fight until one of them wins and the prize
37:42 is the husband of course two hmm does the book say
37:50 anything about malaysia uh i don't know why well when
37:55 people get married in malaysia they have to eat rice during
37:58 the ceremony yeah what's so strange about that it's uncooked
38:03 rice hmm three oh here's another one don't laugh but i
38:12 think this is really romantic you think something is romantic
38:16 what is it in italy a friend or family member
38:20 often brings a pair of white doves to the wedding
38:23 after the ceremony the cage is opened and the doves fly
38:26 into the air the birds symbolize the couple's love and happiness
38:30 you're right that is romantic four and here's an interesting
38:38 custom from india let's hear it there's a special hindu
38:42 water pouring ceremony during the wedding and what happens well
38:47 when the indian bride and groom are married someone pours
38:50 water all over both of them why do they do
38:53 that uh it says here that it brings the couple
38:56 closer together interesting conversation that's
39:04 progress listen and practice this neighborhood
39:14 sure has changed i know a few years ago not
39:18 many people lived here but the population is growing so fast
39:22 these days remember how we used to rent videotapes
39:25 at that little video store yeah now it's a multiplex cinema
39:30 and i hear they're tearing down our high school they're
39:33 going to build a shopping mall soon there will be just
39:36 malls and parking lots that's because everyone has a car
39:40 50 years ago people walked everywhere nowadays they drive that's progress
39:45 i guess listen to the rest of the conversation what
39:53 else has changed in their neighborhood well what about that old
40:00 bookstore do you know if it's still there no
40:04 it's not now it's a hair salon really what about
40:08 the thai restaurant next to it i loved that place
40:11 oh that's still there let's go there this weekend i'll drive
40:16 i can pick you up great listening for better
40:23 or for worse listen to people discuss changes one how long
40:32 have you been living here oh for over 20 years
40:36 and have you noticed a lot of changes during that time
40:38 oh yes quite a few this is a much nicer
40:41 place to live now than it used to be it's
40:44 much greener when i first moved here there weren't many
40:47 trees around but over the last few years the city has
40:51 planted trees everywhere it's made such a difference two how
40:59 do you like living here well it's an interesting city
41:03 but you really need a car here you can't go
41:06 anywhere without one there used to be a good bus system
41:10 but there isn't any more why is that oh i
41:14 think they expect everyone to have a car so they
41:17 don't bother to provide decent bus service it's getting worse
41:21 and worse these days you have to wait a long time
41:24 for a bus and when one finally shows up it's
41:28 usually full three i can't believe how much this neighborhood
41:36 has changed what do you mean well when joe and i
41:39 first bought this house that was almost 20 years ago
41:42 of course there were lots of young couples with children
41:45 living on this street i don't see any kids out
41:48 today that's because they've all grown up and moved out
41:51 of their parents houses the only young children we see around
41:55 here these days are the grandchildren when they come to visit
41:59 it's too bad i miss the sounds of kids playing
42:02 it's gotten way too quiet around here conversation i need
42:10 a job listen and practice i'm so broke i really need
42:18 to find a job so do i do you see
42:21 anything good listed how about this telephone sales job you
42:25 call people and try to sell them magazines that sounds
42:29 boring and anyway i'm not very good at selling well i
42:33 am i might check that one out oh here's one
42:37 for you an assistant entertainment director on a cruise ship
42:41 that sounds like fun i love traveling and i've never been
42:44 on a cruise ship it says here you have to work
42:47 every day while the ship is at sea that's okay
42:50 i don't mind working long hours if the pay is
42:52 good i think i'll apply for it listen to brad's

43:33 really looking for someone who can speak at least one
43:35 other language i'm sorry but we'll keep your application and call
43:40 you if another job comes up oh okay well thank
43:44 you for calling me and i hope to hear
43:46 from you again listening job hunting listen to people talk about
43:56 the kind of work they are looking for check the job
43:59 that would be best for each person one bill so
44:06 what kind of job are you looking for well i
44:09 haven't made up my mind i love working with people
44:12 and i love traveling i don't want a job where
44:15 i'm stuck in an office all day i want to get
44:17 out and see the world are you interested in working
44:20 in business that's where you can sometimes make good money i'm
44:24 not really interested in making a lot of money
44:26 at this point in my life i'll worry about that later 2.
44:32 shannon what kind of career are you planning for yourself i don't know
44:38 i think i'd like to have a job where i can help people everybody
44:42 else in my family is in law or business you know boring stuff
44:46 like that that's just not for me i know i'd like to work overseas
44:50 though maybe in a children's hospital in a developing country but that's a long
44:55 way away i have to get into medical school first and that's not
44:59 going to be easy three ben what kind of job do i have
45:07 in mind well i don't want a regular nine to five job eventually i'd like
45:13 to get into acting maybe even break into movies but i guess that won't
45:18 happen for a while so what are you doing in the meantime well
45:22 i work out at the gym nearly every day i need to be
45:25 really fit and i'm taking acting lessons as well so that i feel comfortable
45:30 in front of the crowd i just had some pictures taken to show
45:33 to agents in the city would you like to see them sure perspectives job profiles
45:44 listen to these people answer the question what kind of work would you like
45:49 to do what job does each person talk about well i think i'd make
45:56 a good journalist because i'm good at writing when i was in college
46:00 i worked as a reporter for the school website i really enjoyed writing different
46:04 kinds of articles i know what i don't want to do a lot
46:10 of my friends work in the stock market but i could never be a stockbroker
46:14 because i can't make decisions quickly i
46:17 don't mind working hard but i'm terrible
46:19 under pressure i'm still in school my parents want me to be a teacher
46:25 but i'm not sure yet i guess i could be a teacher because
46:29 i'm very creative i'm also very impatient so maybe i shouldn't work with kids
46:39 listening good or bad listen to louisa and tim discuss four jobs write
46:47 down the jobs and check if they would be good or bad at them
46:52 one louisa i don't know what classes to take this semester i can't
46:58 decide what i want to do with my life have you thought about it
47:01 louisa a little bit my history professor says i should think about a career
47:06 in politics but i don't think i'd make a good politician why not
47:11 oh you know me i'm not good at working with other people i'm too
47:15 moody and politicians have to work with people all the time that's true so
47:20 what do you think you want to do well honestly i think i'd
47:24 make a good architect oh you would you're so creative and i love drawing
47:29 and i don't know making things plus then i'd get to work alone
47:34 a lot two tim that reminds me of a problem i'm having what is
47:42 it you know my parents have a restaurant right well my father wants
47:47 me to be the manager and you don't want to no way restaurant managers

56:09 on stephen king's new novel i don't know his books are usually fascinating
56:14 but i don't like horror movies well what do you want to see i'm
56:18 interested in the new sandra bullock movie it looks good that's fine with me
56:23 she's a wonderful actress listen to the rest
56:29 of the conversation what happens next

57:08 fine with me listening how did you like it listen to people talk about
57:17 books movies and tv programs which ones do you think they would recommend
57:23 one what do you think of sue grafton's books i love those mysteries when
57:30 i started to read a is for alibi i couldn't put it down i
57:35 stayed up till four o'clock in the morning to finish it wow have you
57:40 read any of the other books in the series oh yeah b is
57:44 for burglar c is for corpse i'm already up to k is for killer
57:50 using the alphabet to build a mystery series is such a clever idea i
57:55 can't wait to read all 26 books i wonder what z will be 2.
58:04 how did you like the movie well i walked
58:07 out after half an hour you did yeah it was
58:11 so dull that i started falling asleep and i've never
58:15 seen such bad acting i think i'm going to start
58:20 reading movie reviews online so i don't waste my money
58:25 three did you see that documentary on tv last
58:29 night the one about australia i did i learned
58:33 so much i didn't know they had so many different
58:36 kinds of animals there and the photography yeah it
58:40 was something wasn't it uh-huh it was pretty amazing it
58:45 made me really want to go there and see
58:47 it for myself four are you reading that book too
58:54 it seems everyone's reading it now when did ufos
58:58 become so popular anyway actually i just finished it what
59:03 a waste of time just the same silly stuff about
59:07 visitors to earth from other planets i know it said
59:11 absolutely nothing new you know i'm sick of hearing
59:15 stories about little green creatures if they're real how
59:18 come no one can ever take a picture of them
59:24 perspectives it's about listen to people talk about some
59:30 of their hollywood favorites can you guess the actress actor
59:35 or movie each person is describing one he's an actor
59:41 who often plays unusual characters he's fantastic as the mad
59:46 hatter in alice in wonderland and captain jack sparrow
59:49 in the pirates of the caribbean movies two this action
59:56 movie came out in 2010 and stars leonardo dicaprio
1:00:00 as a thief who is able to steal information
1:00:02 from people's minds it's kind of confusing but the special effects
1:00:07 are amazing three it's a science fiction movie that was
1:00:14 directed by james cameron it's a beautiful film that takes
1:00:18 place on the moon pandora in the year 2154 it's
1:00:22 a story about the clash of cultures and civilizations 4.
1:00:30 she's an actress who is excellent in both dramas
1:00:33 and comedies i loved her in mamma mia and the iron
1:00:37 lady i haven't seen a lot of her earlier movies
1:00:40 though listening a night at the movies listen to two
1:00:49 critics talk about a new movie what do they
1:00:52 like or not like about it welcome to a night
1:00:57 at the movies i'm pauline kaplan and i'm colin hale good
1:01:01 evening tonight we're going to review the new james bond film
1:01:06 well i really like this new james bond actor very
1:01:10 very much he's the best actor that's ever had the role
1:01:14 warm human even funny a totally believable character i have
1:01:20 to agree a perfect double 007 type pauline what did
1:01:24 you think of the story it was a standard story
1:01:28 for a bond movie the usual beautiful women the usual
1:01:32 evil villain nothing new well i'm surprised i have to say
1:01:36 that i thought the story was unusually good the race
1:01:39 car scenes were exciting and the surprise ending was great
1:01:43 well i can't agree with you there really what did
1:01:47 you think about the music i wasn't impressed at all
1:01:49 by the music i loved the james bond theme but what
1:01:53 they did with it was awful too modern for me
1:01:57 i can't believe you i haven't heard such interesting music
1:02:00 in a movie in a long time it really added
1:02:03 to the action scenes now that brings up another weakness
1:02:07 in the film the special effects again it's just
1:02:11 the same old stuff the car that flies the pen that's
1:02:15 really a gun you get tired of that kind of thing
1:02:18 i'd hardly believe you and i saw the same movie
1:02:20 pauline i have to say that the special effects were
1:02:23 the best ever in a bond film for example the scene
1:02:26 where excuse me colin we're going to have to break
1:02:29 for a commercial you're right pauline we'll be right back
1:02:33 with our ratings [Music] conversation have you met raj listen
1:02:45 and practice have you met raj the student from india
1:02:50 no i haven't well he seems really nice but there's
1:02:54 one thing i noticed he moves his head from side
1:02:57 to side when you talk to him you know like
1:03:00 this maybe it means he doesn't understand you no i don't
1:03:05 think so or it could mean he doesn't agree with you
1:03:09 actually people from india sometimes move their heads from side
1:03:12 to side when they agree with you oh so that's
1:03:16 what it means now listen to raj talk to his friend
1:03:24 what does he find unusual about the way people
1:03:26 in north america communicate so how are things at school
1:03:31 raj oh pretty good actually do you find it easy
1:03:35 to communicate with people most of the time though there
1:03:38 are some things i find a bit unusual for example
1:03:42 the way that people end the conversation you know they'll say
1:03:46 things like hey let's get together soon at first i
1:03:50 thought that they were inviting me to do something but then
1:03:52 i realized it's just a way of saying goodbye it's
1:03:56 not really an invitation at all it takes a bit
1:03:59 of getting used to listening sign language listen to three
1:04:08 conversations about driving one oh no not another parking ticket
1:04:19 that's the second one this week why did i get
1:04:22 a ticket for parking here i thought this was a free
1:04:25 parking zone maybe you can only park here after working
1:04:29 hours is there a sign around anywhere oh you're right
1:04:33 there's one over there i didn't even notice it looks
1:04:37 like you can't park here till after six pm how much
1:04:40 is the fine would you believe it sixty dollars two
1:04:51 i wonder why that traffic officer is signaling me perhaps
1:04:55 he means you're driving too fast no i don't think
1:04:58 so the speed limit is 60 and i'm only going 55.
1:05:03 hmm i wonder why there are no other cars in this lane what do
1:05:08 you mean well you see how the other cars are all in the lane next
1:05:12 to us you're right i think this one is just for buses and taxis they
1:05:18 really should put up better signs around here
1:05:23 three that's weird the last few cars driving
1:05:30 toward us were flashing their lights i
1:05:32 see what you mean there's another one maybe
1:05:35 my lights are on or something let me check no they're off do you think
1:05:40 there's an accident up ahead maybe you'd better slow down oh now i see what's
1:05:47 happening there's a patrol car up ahead
1:05:49 checking people's speed how nice of those other
1:05:52 drivers to let me know well i'm within the speed limit at least i am
1:05:57 now listening that's how i feel listen
1:06:06 to some people talking write what each person
1:06:09 is talking about one that road sign looks kind of strange to me i wonder
1:06:20 what it means perhaps it means the road gets slippery when it's wet or it
1:06:25 might mean that the road is very curvy two that's the last time i'll watch
1:06:33 one of his movies it started out okay but the ending was terrible the last
1:06:38 scene could mean they stay together but it may also mean they never see each
1:06:42 other again i can't stand when directors leave
1:06:45 the ending so open three wow that lecture
1:06:53 really made me think everything the professor
1:06:56 said makes sense i could never understand greek
1:07:00 philosophy before but he made it all so clear maybe this means i should change
1:07:06 my major to philosophy four i can't believe
1:07:15 how many rules they have at this pool
1:07:18 they look through all your bags to make sure you don't have any food
1:07:21 or glass containers i guess that probably means a lot of people try to bring
1:07:26 those things in all i wanted was to go for a swim conversation if i
1:07:35 found seven hundred fifty thousand dollars listen
1:07:40 and practice look at this some guy found
1:07:45 750 000 he returned it and the owner simply thanked him with a phone call you're
1:07:51 kidding if i found 750 000 i wouldn't return it so fast why what would
1:07:59 you do well i'd go out and start spending it i could buy lots of nice
1:08:05 clothes and jewelry someone might also find out about it and then you could go
1:08:10 to jail hmm you've got a point there listen to the rest of the conversation
1:08:20 what would phil do if he found 750.000 so what would you do if you
1:08:27 found 750 000 oh you know me pat i'm so honest i scare myself sometimes
1:08:35 i'd take the money straight to the police i guess that wouldn't be such
1:08:39 a bad idea maybe you'd be luckier than the guy in the article maybe the owner
1:08:44 of the money would give you a big reward well they say honesty pays
1:08:49 right listening tough predicaments listen to three
1:08:57 people talk about predicaments one i just got
1:09:03 a postcard from my friend carrie she lost all her money on vacation in europe
1:09:08 isn't that horrible yeah that's terrible jane what
1:09:12 would you do if you were on vacation
1:09:14 overseas and you lost all your money in credit cards i guess i'd call
1:09:19 my parents and ask them to send me some money right away what about you bert
1:09:24 yeah i'd probably do the same thing although maybe i'd try going to the embassy
1:09:30 or consulate to see if they could help me what about you susan well i guess
1:09:36 i'd probably sell my watch and camera or i might get a job as a waitress
1:09:41 somewhere till i made enough money to buy a plane ticket home two you
1:09:49 know i'm really worried about carol why well i think she has a serious shopping
1:09:54 problem really yes she keeps buying things
1:09:59 and putting everything on her credit card i
1:10:02 don't think she realizes how hard it's going to be to pay all the money
1:10:05 back i don't know what to do what would you do if you discovered a friend
1:10:10 had major financial problems oh no question i'd talk to her about it oh i
1:10:18 don't think i would why not well because it's really none of my business i
1:10:24 wouldn't tell a friend what to do in that type of situation so i wouldn't
1:10:29 say or do anything about it well i think i'd probably talk to her family
1:10:34 about it it's a personal problem and they should try to help her first three
1:10:43 you know i was faced with a tough situation the other day i was walking
1:10:48 down the street and saw two people fighting it looked pretty violent but i
1:10:53 didn't know what to do so i just walked away i figured it was none
1:10:57 of my business but now i think i should have done something what would you do
1:11:02 if you saw two people fighting on the street i'm not really sure but i know
1:11:07 i'd have to do something i guess i would call the police no that takes
1:11:13 too long i'd try to break it up but you could get hurt if you
1:11:17 did that well then i'd try to get someone to help me break it up
1:11:22 in the meantime i child for someone
1:11:24 to call the police listening i'm calling about

1:12:12 terrible tell me dr hilda what should i have done
1:12:16 first you should have spoken to this 42 year old man
1:12:20 you should have asked him not to date your daughter
1:12:23 for a couple of weeks to give the situation some time
1:12:27 to cool off then if they still want to see
1:12:30 each other and if the man seems like a nice person

1:13:11 told him well i told him someone had stolen
1:13:16 the car oh you should have told your father the truth
1:13:20 your father would probably understand about a car accident and he
1:13:24 would be glad you weren't hurt i'm not too sure
